Official Rules - 2017 College Table Tennis Bracket Challenge

1. Eligibility:

These are the official rules (the “Official Rules”) for the 2017 College Table Tennis Bracket Challenge (the "Challenge"). The Challenge is open to anyone who registers by the specified deadline with a valid name, e-mail address and mailing address; excluding those not eligible as described below.

The following are not eligible for the challenge:
  1. Employees and staff of NCTTA and affiliated companies and each of their respective advertising personnel, current sponsors, and affiliates.
  2. The "immediate family members" and or "household members" of any of the persons set forth in (1).
  3. Athletes and coaches participating in the TMS 2017 College Table Tennis Championships.
  4. Residents of a country other than the United States or Canada. Contestants must be able to demonstrate residence the U.S. or Canadian address submitted in the entry form..
  5. Persons under eighteen (18) years of age.

2. Participation:

Participation in the Challenge constitutes Entrant’s full, and unconditional, agreement to these Official Rules.

From all valid entries received, the winners will be determined based on their ability to accumulate the most points in the Challenge during the TMS 2017 College Table Tennis Championships' Singles and Teams tournaments.

Entry in the Challenge consists of two discrete sections: the 2017 NCTTA Singles Bracket Challenge (the "Singles Challenge") and the 2017 NCTTA Team Bracket Challenge (the "Team Challenge").

Entry in the Singles Challenge begins on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 9:00pm. Entry in the Singles Challenge closes on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 9:00 am (the "Singles Promotion Period").

Entry in the Team Challenge begins on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 9:00pm. Entry in the Team Challenge closes on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 9:00 am (the "Team Promotion Period").

For purposes of these Official Rules, all times are Central Time ("CT").

Entry in each section within the Challenge is limited to one per household, and one per person. If multiple entries are received from the same household and/or person, only the last submission will be valid; all earlier submissions will be deemed invalid. Entries without a valid mailing address in the U.S. or Canada will be deemed invalid. Contestants must be able to receive the prize by mail at the provided address.

3. How to Enter:

  1. Go to www.nctta.org/champs/2017/singlesbracketchallenge.html and www.nctta.org/champs/2017/teambracketchallenge.html to submit your entries. There is no entry fee required to participate in the Challenge. Only entries received online in accordance with these Official Rules will be accepted. No other forms of entry - fax, mail, email, phone or other - will be accepted. Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered are void.
  2. You must enter using a working email address and valid U.S. mailing address.
  3. Picks for the Singles Challenge will lock at 9:00 am, Friday, April 7, 2017. Picks for the Team Challenge will lock at 9:00 am, Friday, April 7, 2017. Your picks must be submitted online, received, and recorded by Organizer's computer by the scheduled lock time. Selections submitted after the deadlines are considered invalid. Organizer's computer is the official time-keeping device for this Promotion.

4. How to play the Singles Bracket Challenge:

  1. Follow the instructions at www.nctta.org/champs/2017/singlesbracketchallenge.html to submit your picks and tiebreakers for Women's and Men’s Singles at the TMS 2017 College Table Tennis Championships.
  2. Select the 8 men whom you predict will reach the quarterfinals. For each correct selection, you will receive 2 point.
  3. Among those 8 quarterfinalists, select the 4 men whom you predict will reach the semifinals. For each correct selection, you will receive an additional 4 points.
  4. Among those 4 semifinalists, select the 2 men whom you predict will reach the final. For each correct selection, you will receive an additional 8 points.
  5. Among those 2 finalists, select the man whom you predict will win the Men's Singles Championship title. For a correct selection, you will receive an additional 16 points.
  6. Select the 8 women whom you predict will reach the quarterfinals. For each correct selection, you will receive 2 point.
  7. Among those 8 quarterfinalists, select the 4 women whom you predict will reach the semifinals. For each correct selection, you will receive an additional 4 points.
  8. Among those 4 semifinalists, select the 2 women whom you predict will reach the final. For each correct selection, you will receive an additional 8 points.
  9. Among those 2 finalists, select the woman whom you predict will win the Women's Singles Championship title. For a correct selection, you will receive an additional 16 points.
  10. 16 unique players must be selected. If a player is selected more than once in a given submission, that submission shall be deemed invalid.
  11. Prizes shall be awarded to the entrants who accumulate the most points, in order.
  12. If multiple entries have an equal number of points, the closest predicted score in tiebreaker #1 shall be used to break the tie.
  13. If multiple entries are still tied after using tiebreaker #1, the closest predicted score in tiebreaker #2 shall be used to break the tie.
  14. If multiple entries are still tied after using tiebreaker #2, the earliest submitted Singles Bracket Challenge (tiebreacker #3) shall be used to break the tie.
  15. Winners will be determined on or around 8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2017.

5. How to play the Team Bracket Challenge:

  1. Follow the instructions at www.nctta.org/champs/2017/teambracketchallenge.html to submit your picks and tiebreakers for Women's and Men’s/Coed Teams at the TMS 2017 College Table Tennis Championships.
  2. Select the 4 women's teams which you predict will reach the semifinals. For each correct selection, you will receive 2 point.
  3. Among those 4 semifinalists, select the 2 women's teams which you predict will reach the final. For each correct selection, you will receive an additional 4 points.
  4. Among those 2 finalists, select the women's team which you predict will win the Women's Teams Championship title. For a correct selection, you will receive an additional 8 points.
  5. Select the 8 men's/coed teams which you predict will reach the quarterfinals. For each correct selection, you will receive 1 point.
  6. Among those 8 quarterfinalists, select the 4 men's/coed teams which you predict will reach the semifinals. For each correct selection, you will receive an additional 2 points.
  7. Among those 4 semifinalists, select the 2 men's/coed teams which you predict will reach the final. For each correct selection, you will receive an additional 4 points.
  8. Among those 2 finalists, select the men's/coed team which you predict will win the Men's/Coed Teams Championship title. For a correct selection, you will receive an additional 8 points.
  9. 12 unique teams must be selected. If a team is selected more than once in a given submission, that submission shall be deemed invalid.
  10. Prizes shall be awarded to the entrants who accumulate the most points, in order.
  11. If multiple entries have an equal number of points, the closest predicted score in tiebreaker #1 shall be used to break the tie.
  12. If multiple entries are still tied after using tiebreaker #1, the closest predicted score in tiebreaker #2 shall be used to break the tie.
  13. If multiple entries are still tied after using tiebreaker #2, the earliest submitted Teams Bracket Challenge (tiebreacker #3) shall be used to break the tie
  14. Winners will be determined on or around 8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2017.

6. Prizes:

  • 7. Entry data:

    Neither Organizer nor Promoters are responsible for lost, late, incomplete, damaged, stolen, invalid, unintelligible or misdirected entries, which will be disqualified. Neither Organizer nor Promoters are responsible for any unavailability of or interruptions to any service or equipment used in connection with the Promotion, including, without limitation, (1) interruptions to any network, server, Internet, website, telephone, satellite, computer or other connections (2) failures of any telephone, satellite, hardware, software or other equipment, (3) garbled, misdirected or jumbled transmissions, or traffic congestion, or (4) other errors of any kind, whether human, technical, mechanical or electronic, or (5) the incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry or other information or the failure to capture any such information.

    Once submitted, entries become the sole property of Organizer and will not be acknowledged or returned. In the event of a dispute, the authorized account holder at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant. Potential winners may be required to show proof of identification, and Organizer may require that the potential winner provide proof that his/her identification matches the User Information associated with the winning entry (both at the time of entry and at the time of verification of a potential winner). ORGANIZER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DISQUALIFY ANY POTENTIAL WINNER IF IT DETERMINES, IN ITS SOLE DISCRETION, THAT ANY USER INFORMATION WAS CHANGED OR FALSIFIED IN ORDER TO MEET ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS.

    8. Organizer and Sponsor rights:

    By entering this contest, all prize winners grant NCTTA the perpetual right to use each winner's name, image and likeness for promotional use in this and future table tennis contests.
