About Us

The National Collegiate Table Tennis Association (NCTTA) is a government-recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting competitive table tennis at the collegiate level in North America (US, Canada, Puerto Rico) The NCTTA works with the USA Table Tennis Association, the sports' national governing body, to further progress in College Table Tennis. NCTTA is a National Organization Member of USATT. The USA Table Tennis Association is recognized by the United States Olympic Committee (USOC). NCTTA also provides assistance and leadership in implementing College/University Table Tennis programs, securing the opportunity for student-athletes to compete in the sport of Table Tennis in schools and achieve athletic and academic excellence. NCTTA maintains the eligibility and integrity of intercollegiate Table Tennis while providing the regulation of Varsity Table Tennis at the Collegiate Level in North America. The importance of Collegiate Athletics has come to the forefront with the USOC emphasizing its importance as it plays a critical role in the athlete development pipeline. In fact, the existence of Olympic sport programs at the college level is what separates the U.S. Olympic Team from every other Olympic team in the world. The opportunity to participate in college athletics is a real motivating force for many high-school athletes.

NCTTA stands to meet the challenge of promoting one of the least developed collegiate sports by actively increasing its membership, competitive level of play, and professionalism. NCTTA works to promote both recreational and intercollegiate Table Tennis on college campuses. Our ultimate goal is to promote serious amateur sport competition among collegiate table tennis athletes and schools most specifically in the area of women's table tennis where the NCAA has currently created an impetus for such a program. Indeed, NCTTA with the support of the USATT is a frontrunner in the grass-root movement that introduces newcomers to our enjoyable sport.

NCTTA was established in 1992 as the League of Northeast Intercollegiate Table Tennis (LNITT) with the hope that the league would grow and become the national organization for collegiate table tennis. Due to the dedication of its officers, this goal was realized in 1999 when the league changed its name to the National Collegiate Table Tennis Association (NCTTA) and expanded into all four corners of the United States and into Canada.  NCTTA is currently involved with over 150 schools within the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.

NCTTA affiliated schools offer their players an opportunity to be on a team, represent their school, and compete in a sport they enjoy. By actively seeking to increase our membership, competitive level of play, and professionalism as an intercollegiate table tennis organization, NCTTA continues to work toward establishing table tennis as a recognized sport among collegians.

Please give us any feedback through our website. NCTTA is always welcoming new schools that want to join our organization and leagues and is eager to answer all questions.

At this moment, NCTTA is eager to receive any partnership proposals from businesses outside of table tennis. Since NCTTA is a publicly supported 501(c)(3) organization, we also welcome any private donations made by individuals and corporations. Please contact us at vicepresident@nctta.org.
