NCTTA 2020 Championships---UPDATE

NCTTA wants to express our concern for everyone impacted by the COVID-19 virus in the United States and around the World. We are proactively monitoring the situation as agencies take proactive measures to ensure the health and safety and prepare for and respond to the COVID-19 virus.

As always, we take pride in creating a positive environment for our student-athletes as well as our hardworking volunteer staff.

NCTTA Champs will take place as scheduled on April 3-5 at the Round Rock Sports Center in Round Rock, Texas. Round Rock Sports Center has implemented enhanced cleaning and sanitization, including adhering to the recommendations set forth in the U.S. EPA’s Emerging Pathogen Policy regarding cleaning disinfectants effective against the COVID-19 virus. We are working closely with our venue partners and aligning with local, state, and federal public health guidelines and agencies.

As the NCTTA Champs approaches, we will be constantly reviewing our health protection activities, public health messaging, hygiene and medical control measures with the aim of strengthening our COVID-19 response further in line with up-to-date public health advice and guidance, including that of the CDC.

NCTTA will start to invite teams and singles as early as tonight and certainly on Thursday, March 5th and in the following days. We are looking forward to an amazing event for everyone.

NCTTA ELIGIBILITY FORMS--Due 72 hours prior

NCTTA has reached the modern age and we hope this makes things easier for everyone involved!

Everyone in NCTTA needs to take note and SCAN and EMAIL the completed 2020 eligibility form 72 hours prior to your division tournament director or info@nctta.org

Remember, this form works as the Division and Regional Eligibility form. There is a separate eligibility form this year for the National Championships should you make it that far.

COMMON MISTAKE:
Example: Joe Smith played in his NCTTA Division tournament in the Fall, had to miss the Spring tournament but still wants to play in the Post Season (Regionals). Joe must be listed on the Spring Eligibility form and roster to play in Regionals.

PUT EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO PLAY IN THE NCTTA POST SEASON ON THIS FORM
(you have been warned)
Contact us if you have any questions! info@nctta.org

Florida State University Hosting ISET Coaching Certification

NCTTA Coaching Committee: Logan Zimmerman, Willy Leparulo and Dr. Alan Chu are on a bold mission to educate and certify as many coaches as possible into the world of college table tennis.

NCTTA's coaching certification has brought together coaches from all over the nation with on and off-the-table knowledge, skills and tricks of the trade! Currently there are 25 certified college table tennis coaches in North America! The coaching seminars are sponsored by ISET who has been a great supporter of these programs.

Two more classes will be scheduled this summer and potentially a third one in the Fall semester.

Firstan NCTTA certification class is going to be in Tallahassee, Florida at the home of the Florida State University Seminoles at the Bobby E Leach Recreation Center on July 27th and 28th! Tallahassee is home to both Willy Leparulo and Logan Zimmerman (NCTTA Course Conductors).

Register here for this certification class at Florida State University, July 27-28th.

Play or Volunteer in US Nationals at Vegas!

By Michael Reff

A USATT tourney is coming soon in end of June,

The 30th to July fifth so signing up now is opportune.

Over 90 events will have you spent, full of table tennis glory,

Matt Hetherington states, “it’s a diverse crowd of people” who play and “everyone has their own unique story!”

For college students fresh from playing in the NCTTA champs

This is a new chance to socialize and avoid offseason cramps.

It’s in Las Vegas (need I say more?), 40 tables with rubber flooring.

This is definitely not a tourney to be missed, the competition will not be boring.

There will also be sightings of recent champions from NCTTA,

From Yue Wu to Lily Zhang these TT powerhouses will slay!

And if you choose not to play you can also help volunteer.

And get some travel and hotel paid, while assisting in making this event of the year.

David Del Vecchio of video production is requesting any and all,

To help with cameras and live streaming, to keep the ponging viewers enthralled.

The volunteer schedule is slightly different July 2nd through 6th you’ll stay

You’ll help with setup and teardown too, “willingness to learn” is name of the game.

So come to US Nationals in whatever shape or form,

Experience variety of events, make memories that defy the norm!

Click here to sign up for the US Nationals today!
